Stop what you are doing for a moment and pay attention. I need to have a conversation with you. For too long now you have been tolerating things in your life and they are making you cranky and old before your time. Whether it’s that cluttered closet or a job that is slowly sucking the life out of you, these things are draining your energy and keeping from being your best self. It’s not right! We need you to be here. We need you to be fully and completely engaged!

what are you tolerating?

Do I have your attention? Good. Here is what i want you to do. Take out a piece of paper or open a text document on your computer. At the top write ‘Things / People / Situations I am tolerating.’ Take 5 minutes right now and brainstorm that list. Pause now and do it – I’ll wait.


Done? Great. My guess is you have at least 10 if not 100 things on the list. No wonder you are stressed and knocked out at the end of the day! Luckily, you’ve accomplished the first step in eliminating this energy drain – recognizing that there is a drain.

why do you tolerate things?

now it’s time to uncover the reason you tolerate these things. This is as simple as asking the question – why? Why are you tolerating this thing / person / situation? what is it that is that you are getting out of it? You may think you are the victim here – especially when it has to do with another person, but you are choosing to accept this behavior – tolerating it. Take one of the items on your list and think about your ‘why.’ Again, I’ll wait so you can do it now.


choose to stop tolerating – with action

Do you want to remove this tolerance? This energy drain? Take your power back and take action. What is it that you can do to remove this tolerance? Do you need help from a professional? Call one! Can you delegate it? Assign it! Do you need to have a conversation with someone? Call them! Do you need to just do something? Take Action! Do one thing right now to get into action.

Go through this process for one item on your list. Notice how your energy increases, your confidence soars, and your day becomes more productive! Imagine what it would feel like if you eliminated even more tolerances?
