Anywhere Workers tend to be self motivated, adaptable, wizards at time management, and generally resilient. Every now and then, however, we face obstacles, setbacks, and challenges that are beyond our skillful control.
It’s at these times we need to be aware of what’s going on inside our own heads.
And it’s o.k. to feel like things aren’t o.k. We all have times of stress, frustration and overwhelm.
It’s a good time for self-compassion. A good time to step back and make sure you are taking care of yourself – because you are your most important asset – in business and in life.
Once you have taken time to calm your nerves, remember this poem. It’s one I discovered years ago.
I use it for my own meditation and as a reminder when things are not going as expected (like now!).
I offer it here today that it may serve you well on your journey through the obstacles, setbacks, and unexpected or uncontrollable events.
We all need a little help now and then.

Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don’t know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you’re tired and weary
Because it means you’ve made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are
also thankful for the setbacks.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles
and they can become your blessings.
