Boo! Did I scare you? Well, guess what? You scare me! Or should I say, your presentation scares me!
That’s right.
- -You with that slide deck of 10 bullet point slides;
- -You with the cut and paste schedule from your excel spreadsheet;
- -You with the clipart cartoons;
- -You with 5 different font colors on the same page.
You scare me!
Who needs monsters on Halloween when we have scary presentations everywhere?
Is that the impact you want to have on your audience?
You know, your audience may be too nice to tell you, but I’m not here to be your friend.
I’m here to help you make an impact.
and get your message across:
clearly – briefly – simply
How? Take one slide at a time. For each slide as yourself: what is it that I’m trying to say? Think about it. Describe it in 8 words or less. Then say it!!! But say it in a way that has an impact.
Take this simple slide as an example. Would you remember a presentation more if the presenter showed you a slide full of text and read it to you word for word? Or……..
Would this slide using a visual image help you to relate to and understand the message?
Get it?
Good.
Now YOU do it!
